The Maiden´s Tower is a lighthouse from the 18th century and is located in Istanbul about 180 meters before Üsküdar on a small island in the Bosporus. It is one of the landmarks of the city.
Around 527 the old Galata Tower was built under the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I and served as a sighting tower.
There are different Bosphorus tours: short, long, public or private, cruises with dinner and cultural show, moonlight cruises, cruises at sunset when the city turns into its magic red.

Balat is a quarter called “Mahalle” in the northwest of the old town at the Golden Horn. The area is famous for its colorful houses, narrow streets, art scene, cafes, synagogues and churches.
Until the end of the Ottoman Empire, mainly Greeks, Armenians and Jews lived in Balat.
