Fatih Solak feat. Serdar Öztop at the Badehaus in the RAW area
Fatih Solak, who started his music career in Berlin singing cover rock songs and gave countless concerts as the lead singer of the rock band “Darbe”, later renamed “Karma”, invited to a musical Christmas party with musicians from Berlin and Istanbul on Christmas Day.
In the almost sold-out Badehaus, the Berlin musician Oğuzhan Soysal first opened the evening with his guitar and set the mood with a well-known song by Ezhel “Felaket”, among others. He performed his interpretations of songs such as “Ay tenli kadın” (The moon-skinned woman), “Tutamiyorum Zamanı” (I can’t stop time), “Antidepresan” (antidepressants), “Kendime yalan söyledim” (I lied to myself) accompanied by his guitar and delighted not only his old fans.
The show continued with Kahraman Kılınç and his acoustic band. Kahraman opened his gig with his self-composed songs “Izmir” and “Rüyanda ki kadın” (The Woman from Your Dream) and played songs by Kıraç “Kan ve Gül” (Blood and Rose), MFÖ-Mazhar Fuat Özkan “Sakın gelme” (Don’t Come! ), Haluk Levent “Yalan” (Lie), Kolpa “Beni Aşka inandır” (Convince me of love) and Pinhani “Dünyadan uzak” (Far away from earth). With “Aşk Oyunu” (Game of Love) by Kenan Doğulu, he said goodbye to the stage and then continued to celebrate with the audience.
Finally, the highlight was Fatih Solak on stage with his rock band feat. Serdar Öztop. The audience rocked in the Badehaus and knew by heart almost all the songs from his first album Melankoli, which Fatih Solak released in spring 2022. For artists it’s one of the indescribable moments when people sing along.
The song “Rüya” (Dream), written by Sezen Aksu and produced by the sadly too early deceased Uzay Heparı in the early nineties, was rearranged, mixed, mastered and recorded by the highly talented electric guitar performer and producer Serdar Öztop. It is definetely Fatih’s song. His voice harmonizes with the tireless performance of the popular drummer Cihan Topaloğlu and the sounds of the bass guitar of the sympathetic Levent Okumuş. Serdar Öztop seems to literally melt into his electric guitar.
During the evening, people celebrated, sang along, danced, kissed. The band played the single release from the album Melankoli “Güllerim soldu” (my roses have withered) as well as old known hits, such as “Senden daha güzel” (I have never met anyone more beautiful than you before) by the rock group Duman, “ıslak ıslak” (Wet Wet) by Barış Akarsu, “Uzun ince bir yoldayım” (I am walking on a long narrow path) by poet Aşık Veysel, “Uykusuz her gece” (Sleepless every night) by superstar Ajda Pekkan and many many more.
After encore shouts the group played few extra songs at the end afterwards all musicians said goodbye with thanks under thunderous applause until the next concert. It was a lot of fun for me personally and especially gave me so much joy to accompany the musicians photographically.
